Park that thought

A reader’s letter in March’s issue speaks of a neighbour, whose new car would not fit into his garage. This mean that he was having to park on his drive and this “invalidated his always-kept-in-a-locked-garage’ premium on his car insurance.

I too used to think this. However, when I renewed my car insurance recently, I learned that it’s actually a lower premium to park on a drive. Parking inside a garage is see as more prone to accident with the potential for things to fall off shelves – paint pots etc. – or for driving over a bucket or screwdriver.
