The pity of it all

The pity of it all

It is almost for sure that many readers of the Mature Times will agree with Tony Simpson’s observations regarding the Kitchener coin, the First World War and the need for much more effort to be made by the international; community to prevent war.

What is so baffling is the dichotomous situation whereby human beings are so amazingly clever in terms of: space exploration, music, literature and scientific achievements, etc. but cannot, as yet, do what seems so elementary – bring peace to the world.

Being ‘all in this together’ is not just a national desirability but an international one in terms of keeping the peace and maintaining the viability of the Planet environmentally speaking. Let’s have
money for dealing with earthquakes and the world’s poor rather than escalating the
finance required for more sophisticated weaponry.
