Big-hearted Jean decided to turn her trusty hooks to making the iconic blooms after her granddaughter came up with the idea of setting aside the baby clothes she usually knocks up to raise funds for the Royal British Legion.
And in the build up to Remembrance Sunday, Jean has taken the challenge in her stride, with handmade poppy sales topping 400 in less than a month.
