It is strange that environmentalist organizations have backed the ‘Remain’ campaign given the EU’s relentless pursuit of economic growth and belief in free movement of people.
Charities like Friends of the Earth say nothing about high levels of net immigration and it’s impact on the countryside.
But the countryside, currently under threat from a variety of sources such as fracking, is vital to mental and physical health, it’s erosion will make everyone poorer.
Therefore it is sensible policy to curb net immigration. By voting ‘Brexit’ I believe I am helping to diminish this threat to wildlife habitat and farmland.
