My letter regarding the provision or lack of, hearing loops for the hard of hearing was published in the January issue of your paper and I should like to thank all those readers who responded and supported my campaign.
Since its publication I have been contacted by the GMB union who have pledged support nationwide and the British Legion who are also putting their support for hearing loops to be widely available.
I am determined to carrying on supporting this fight for more hearing loops in shops, council offices and public places. The systems should be in place for use by those who need them but there has not been enough training. The charity Action on Hearing Loss is a good source of information.
I am overwhelmed by the contacts I have had since my letter and wish to praise the Mature Times for their help in promoting my cause.
