Politicians should start reading supermarket till receipts to see where the evil VAT is charged, but perhaps they never use detergents, Worse, EU rules make our weak Government put it onto domestic fuel bills. Why do we allow these latter-day Napoleons and Hitlers to tax our poor? With 69 historians as MPs at least one should remember that taxing essentials such as bread, salt and tea leads to revolutions….
