While I do NOT want to detract from David Richard’s achievement – to say he climbed Everest when he walked to base camp is far from correct. There is a lot of difference!
I have walked the Tour de Mont Blanc, stood at the base of the North Face of the Eiger and the Matterhorn, and crossed the Himalayas into Zanskar but I would NOT dare to say I had actually climbed any of them.
