Library support

I obtain my copy of Mature Times at my local library, I also use their computers as well as borrowing books.

Throughout the UK libraries are closing, losing staff, having their hours reduced and relying more and more on volunteers to keep the services going.

I was encouraged to read in the October edition of Mature Times that Rob Wilson MP the new library minister makes some positive comments, he needs to follow up these remarks by persuading his government to stop cutting Local Authority budgets which are leading to library closures.

My local Authority is Kirklees in West Yorkshire and we have had our budget cut by 49% since 2010.

Members of Parliament couldn’t do their job effectively without the aid of the House of Commons library. Think about it!
