Equal pay?

Equal pay?

All the Acts outlawing discrimination in Britain – 1970 Equal Pay Act; 1975 Sex Discrimination Act; 1976 Race Relations Act and the 1995 Disability Discrimination Act – were all passed way before the EU’s Employment Equality Directive of 2000. Our equality rights do not come from the EU and they do not depend on our being in the EU.

Unfortunately, even after all these laws women still don’t get equal pay – on average women earn 14 per cent less than men. Additionally, black graduates earn 23 per cent less than white graduates.
