Happy Birthday Your Majesty

Happy Birthday Your Majesty

I should like to wish our dear Queen a belated Happy Birthday through your paper. She has reached the age of 89 and is working as hard as ever, as is Prince Phillip. When I was watching the service of remembrance for the Gallipoli campaign on the television I was so impressed with the way they both walked down the steps with no sticks and no arms to lean on. The Queen stood firm and graciously before laying her wreath on the Cenotaph and is a shining example to us all. There must be days when she wishes that she could just have a lie in on a Sunday.

I noticed recently after the service for the Armed Forces in Afghanistan that when she and the Duke of Edinburgh walked down the many steps from St Paul’s Cathedral that they did help each other down by holding hands. What a heartwarming sight.

She is a credit to her people.
