Unbalanced tax treatment of private pensions

Like many of your readers I want to leave as much as possible to my children and grandchildren.

I am horrified at the unbalanced tax treatment of private pensions and ISAs in respect of inheritance tax brought in by this Government.

The small concession made in the Autumn Statement in respect of ISAs is smoke and mirrors at its best.

As things stand at the moment, private pensions are not included in an estate for inheritance tax purposes and can be passed on free of tax.

ISAs are included and as such are subject to a potential tax of 40%. I have launched an e-petition requesting that this unfairness be rectified.

Could I ask readers of a like mind to give me their support signing my petition?

Thank you
