I have enjoyed watching the Olympics on the television and reading the headlines about our sportsmen and women: but one thing that has annoyed me in the press is how much emphasis is put on the sexuality of the athletes. Tom Daley has been accused of failing because he is gay, and much has been made of the female married couple in the gold medal winning hockey team.
What does it matter if any of them are gay or straight, married or single? What we should be more interested in is the hard work and hours of training they put in to their sport.
