Equality for Veterans

Equality for Veterans

How many more are there out there struggling to keep the wolf from the door that served in the armed forces between 1949 and March 1975, but did not complete 22 years service 13 years for commissioned officers. Throughout their service their pay was abated for unspecified reasons, probably to pay for their pension when they completed 22 years’ service.

In 1970 the Ministry of Defence made plans to make all periods of service over 2 years qualifying time for a pension. In April 1975 Service pension rules were changed and since that date service personnel leaving the Armed Forces receive a Pro Rata Pension from age 60. Those who served between 1949 and March 1975 get nothing even though their pay had been abated.

Equality for Veterans Association are a group of Veterans fighting to overturn this anomaly and get justice for those left out in the cold. If the above describes your situation and you would like to do something about it email editorial@maturetimes.co.uk and it will be passed on to me.
