Disability charity Vitalise celebrates the nation’s most accessible tourist attractions

Many people could be missing out on experiencing some of the nation’s best tourist attractions these holidays because of a lack of disabled access.

To help disabled visitors, Vitalise have created a handy online guide, ranking the UKs most popular attractions on wheelchair access, toilets, parking and other facilities.

Westminster Abbey, Oxford Museum of Natural History, National Museum of Scotland and Tate Liverpool amongst attractions rated

In a recent survey, they found 4 out of 10 people with disabilities said they had been physically unable to get into a venue they had previously been informed was accessible.

Vitalise has launched a campaign, #AccessNow, encouraging people with disabilities to join them in pushing for urgent change.

At a recent event, they celebrated the top performing tourist attractions around the UK and are now calling on all tourist attractions to review their current facilities and work harder on accessibility to follow suit. Find out more in their video below:
