Can’t put a good book down

I enjoyed reading your article in January’s edition of Mature Times “I’ve started so l’ll finish.”

As an ex-librarian I cannot think of any book I haven’t finished but I don’t always read the entire book. Perhaps if more digests of books were published people would finish reading them. I can do this as well with films on TV.

As a pensioner of 93 suffering from glaucoma, while I wish to read all the books I missed when younger, I hear “time’s winged chariot” and adopt this skipping method. I also find “armchair companions to authors such as Shakespeare and Dickens, a great help.

Now becoming curious I must get to the library to obtain a copy.
