Ana Sampson reserves a place for poetry on our book shelves

Green and Pleasant Land  by Ana Sampson

This lovely little anthology of pastoral poetry is published on 18th September 2014 and is a delight for those of us who enjoy tranquil poems.  It is a breath of fresh air to counter the stresses and pressures of everyday life and can be dipped into as a box of delights.

The selection includes many well known and loved verses that we can take with us to remind us of the seasons of our beautiful British countryside.  It is also a fine collection to be given as a gift for poetry lovers and to introduce new recruits to the joys of treasured national poets.

Poetry sometimes struggles to find its place on our book shelves but this book deserves a space where it can be as positive as a vase of hedgerow flowers to bring joy to our lives.
