I greatly enjoyed the above mentioned article – many thanks. There were some fine comics in the ‘old days’.
I remember Nosmo King and ‘Stainless’ Steven. Amongst the girls we had Elsie and Doris Waters and wonderful Welsh Gladys Morgan. I recall she had a huge audience in fits of laughter at Bournemouth and I sent a box of chocolates to her dressing room.
Another favourite was Beryl Reed, with her impression of the naughty schoolgirl Monica.
I also like Limericks, for example:
A young blonde barmaid in sale
On her bust had the prices of ale
And on her behind
To help all the blind
Was the same information in Braille.
