Eye lift surgery on a constant rise amongst 45-54 year olds since 2012

According to data collated and analysed by Transform Cosmetic Surgery, Botox was amongst the top enquiries in 2012 but has been replaced by eyelift surgery (blepharoplasty), liposuction and fillers for 45-54 year olds in 2014.

With a wave of older female celebrities, such as Helen Mirren, Catherine Zeta Jones and Carol Vorderman,  looking better than ever, women in their 40’s and 50’s are looking to cosmetic procedures such as eye lift and facelifts,  all of which are in the top 10 enquired procedures for women aged 45-64.

An interactive map has been produced which features an extensive range of data which can be attributed to different procedures, towns, genders, age groups and years, allowing users to navigate around the UK to discover the most popular procedures in their area. The data has highlighted a number of interesting trends and which has allowed speculation as to whether there is a direct correlation between certain social factors and the enquiries they receive.

Patricia Dunion, Chief Operating Officer, Transform Cosmetic Surgery, commented, “We’ve been helping patients for 40 years – and in that time there’s been a massive change in what they enquire about. We’ve had 350,000 from all over the country in the last 4 years alone.

We’d never have guessed the Rooney effect would generate 5,500 enquiries for hair transplants – or that curvaceous bottoms would be all the rage in the noughties.

And, it looks like Botox is something that’s misunderstood and is something people talk about much more than they have.”

Have you ever considered cosmetic surgery and what would be your preferred procedure?  Or have you already “been under the knife” or had Botox or fillers?  We are interested to know our readers thoughts on this growing trend.
