Equality for veterans

Equality for veterans

I read with interest your letter in the August edition of the Mature Times. My husband, Terry, was in the Royal Navy from 2 June 1964 to 16 February 1973, so does not qualify for a pension.

Way back in 2002 a friend on the Isle of Man alerted Terry to an Armed Forces Pension Action Group, which we were going to join, but did not. Terry’s friend joined, but I believe the Steering Group was not successful, and he asked for his money to be returned.

I believe redress won’t come until it is too late, in other words when most of the Service Personnel have passed away. I am surprised this issue has not gone to Europe for a ruling, but I suppose that will take a lot of money.
