A neat alternative to an allotment

A neat alternative to an allotment

Not being an overly green-fingered person, I was interested but apprehensive in trying out the Indoor Allotment.

It’s a pretty set with the picket fencing and miniature garden shed – already made up in the packaging with full instructions on how to plant the herbs using the seeds and compacted soil which are both included – along with a miniature set of herb clippers for when the herbs are ready to use.

Each pot has its own tray underneath for drainage capture so water doesn’t end up all over your windowsill and the set stays neat and tidy.

The instructions give you a good indicator of what to do with your herbs and when you are likely to see the start of the growth.

The seeds I planted were slower than anticipated – but having consulted a gardening fiend in the office, I was instructed that my kitchen is far too cold! Cue setting up my allotment elsewhere, and the herbs have bloomed!

It’s a fantastically handy little herb garden with three different herbs – perfect for cooking with fresh flavours!

At the retail price of £24.99, I think it to be a little bit expensive, but it would make a nice novelty gift.
