Read my lips

Read my lips

Re your article about hearing loss and hearing aids in the September edition, please spread the word about lip-reading classes where everyone receives a warm welcome, meets a group of like-minded people and learns communication tactics and tips for managing their hearing loss.

It’s so much more than lip-reading, it provides emotional support, keeps the brain ticking over and is an opportunity to make new friends, all of whom know what it’s like to lose your hearing.  Class lists are available on the ATLA (Association of Teachers of Lip-reading to Adults) website plus view www.atlalipreading.org.uk to see what a class is like, or Hearing Link www.hearinglink.org, or Action on Hearing Loss www.actiononhearingloss.org.uk
