CARRY ON’S inimitable Sid James is Citizen James in the hilarious 1960s BBC comedy, which finally comes to DVD for the first time. This long-lost classic comedy series makes its DVD debut, featuring the only known surviving episodes, the complete series one, and two episodes each from series two and three. They will be released as a two-disc set on 6 February 2012 courtesy of Acorn Media.

In series one written by Alan Simpson and Ray Galton (Hancock, Steptoe & Son), Sid (Sid James) is a hard-working layabout, gambler and con-artist, hanging out on the streets of Soho with his sidekick Bill (Bill Kerr), in Charlie’s Nosh Bar and occasionally paying a visit to his long-suffering fiancée Liz (Liz Fraser), to borrow money to pay off his gambling debts and cons gone wrong.

Schools take time for the Jubilee

Colerne KidsSchools across the West of England are signing up to be part of an inter-generational project that will celebrate the Diamond Jubilee of Her Majesty The Queen. The Golden-Oldies Charity was successful in winning funding from the Big Lottery last June for its Jubilee Time After Time Schools Project.

Goldies, as it has become fondly known, brings singing and laughter to people across the West of England and South Wales. The Charity started in Bath four years ago, initially with four singing sessions. This has now grown to over 60 with hundreds attending each week. The sessions are based on the popular hits of the 50s 60s and 70s.

Local charities team up for a second time to smash the world record for largest Zumba class!

Local charities Lewis-Manning Hospice and The Wessex Autistic Society have teamed up for the second time for an even bigger and better attempt at breaking the Guinness World Record for largest Zumba class.

October last year saw over 750 charity supporters, Zumba virgins and fitness fanatics dancing to the Latin-inspired calorie burning class, but sadly they didn’t break the record.

So the charities have bounced back with the promise to throw and even bigger and better party - Zumba Smash 2, on Sunday 12th February to break the current record of 2012 participants – and they need your help.
