How true Adrian Martin of Birmingham is when he states in April 2014 letters that our pensions were paid into and that they are not a benefit. Early on there was a lot of publicity over this, but gradually State Pension disappeared from the annual Pension Service letter and became Benefit.
Thousands of pensioners who paid in all their working lives have never claimed benefits and are not happy with this change of name. Perhaps they should all now lobby to have word Pension reinstated.
