I am 70 years old and was first taken to the library by my mother when I was 5 years old. It was a cheap way of keeping me occupied as it was after the war when toys were a luxury.
Our present library is modern and has computers and a pleasant place to browse with leaflets telling you what is on in the area.
Sadly I have had to go to the mobile service as I have contracted osteoporosis and I am now virtually housebound.
I have praise for all the staff that come. One man in particular lends me all the books I want and stops to chat about them.
If I had to choose between the free bus and the library I would choose the library every time.
