Two articles on opposite pages. One informed me that in a recent survey, 80% of older people had said that they were not considering downsizing. It seems that every effort is being made to help them to move on from their old homes.
On the opposite page I learnt about ‘clock cells’ buried in the brain which add time tags to memories and ‘place cells’ which label memories with the location where they were formed.
Throughout our lives, our homes and the times we spend in them, make up the story of our lives and define who we are. Is it so greedy to want to enjoy our last years in places full of memories?
