This cordless vacuum cleaner is a super lightweight and powerful cleaner that is designed for carpets and hard floors. Assembly is very straightforward and the accompanying booklet is very clear. As the battery comes ready charged, it was ready to go in about 10 minutes. As with all appliances, do make sure you read the instructions before you get going.
There are a number of good design points to Gtech AirRam Mk 2 but the best one by far is that it weighs just 3.5kg which the manufacturers claim is half the weight of many mains powered upright vacuums. Lifting the machine and taking it upstairs was no problem at all.
Moving from carpets to tiled floors was no problem and needed no change of settings. The machine glided effortlessly between the two types of surface. The handle is easily adjusted for height and can also lie almost completely flat so vacuuming underneath furniture is remarkably easy. The vacuum steers 
smoothly from left to right, takes corners with no difficulty at all and cleans right to the edge. Having no trailing cord is a real bonus.
Emptying the vacuum is easy and pretty much mess-free. The dust and dirt are compressed into a cylindrical storage capsule on the top of the machine that is easily removed and emptied. The dirt is cleanly ejected from the storage capsule straight into the bin. Again, the booklet accompanying the machine clearly illustrates how to do this.
The vacuum uses a professional grade 22V Lithium-ion battery that runs for p to 40 minutes; a 1 hour short charge will deliver a burst of additional run time. There is a convenient LED display on the cleaner that shows how much charge the battery has left.
The only downside is that there are no accompanying tools – like a hose. For those hard to reach places you need the Gtech Multi that is a lightweight cordless hand-held companion to the upright AirRam. This comes with a full set of attachments including a 14inch extension tube and a concealed flexible 
hose ad is very useful for stairs, ceilings and the car. The battery can be charged on or off the appliance and a full charge will last about 20 minutes.
I shall now be using this instead of my old vacuum and I have even let my husband have a go. This is a great innovation in the household chores department -highly recommended.
