Concerned about cuts? You should be.

Concerned about cuts? You should be.

We’re right to be concerned about the cuts to the services older people especially rely on but many of us have seen things can be changed for the better and can lobby politicians and decision makers when we see something wrong.

However this may become irrelevant if the secretive USA – EU “Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership” is enacted.  Not only will are healthcare standards at risk, corporations, many of them foreign and not responsible to us,  will be able to undercut many things we hold dear- food and environmental standards to name but two.

Our MEPs and MPs are being kept in the dark whilst the negotiators work with big-business lobbyists. When the deal is done parliamentarians will be faced with a “take it or leave it” choice and be unable to negotiate for their constituents.

We’ve already seen the chaos greedy businesses can cause- taking profits when they are to be made and leaving tax-payers to pick up the pieces when things go wrong.  People concerned about their pension or their family and wanting to know more should search online for “TTIP”.
