It’s easy to get set up with Skype even if you’ve never used it before

With family and friends are increasingly on the move and relocating from home. In 2013, 3 million people in the UK moved house to a new city or county. Skype makes it easy to keep in touch with everyone you care about the most. Skype is free to use between Skype accounts eliminating the cost of local and international calls.

It’s easy to get set up with Skype even if you’ve never used it before and you can start a call in three simple steps:

1)      How to Install Skype

The first thing you’ll need to do is download and install Skype from Skype.com and sign in with your Microsoft account. If you don’t have an account, you can create one when you first start up Skype.

2)      How to add a contact

Once you’ve started Skype select the people tab, select the add contact icon at the top of the screen and then enter the name, Skype name or email address of the person you’re looking for. Select the person you’re looking for and then select add to contacts. They will appear offline until they accept your request.

3)      How to make a call

Once you have your contacts added, you’re ready to get calling. To start a Skype call select the person you want to call. In the window that opens click the green call icon. The call will start and you’ll soon be connected.
