The Community Service Volunteers (CSV) are asking people to knit items of clothing which they can donate to help others keep warm this winter. It's part of their 'Make a Difference Day' - the UK's biggest single day of volunteering - on Saturday, 25th October 2008.

For the last ten years the charity Touch Trust has been working hard to reach out to people locked in their own private world, where communication and participation in human activities and expression are supremely difficult. From the isolated and elderly to children and young people with autism, Downs Syndrome, cerebral palsy and other profound disabilities, founder Dilys Price, OBE has touched them all.

Children's cancer charity looking for more volunteers
CLIC has more than 1,000 volunteers: many of those work in the charity’s 28 shops, 150 work on the front line supporting children, young people and families directly, more than 400 run committees and branches each raising much needed funds for the organisation, and the remaining volunteer in CLIC Sargent offices around the UK.
