Take time out and learn more about psychology
11/06/2009
If you are fascinated by human behaviour – and would like to know more – then a four-day course this summer could provide inspiration and enjoyment.
Run by Bournemouth University, it is aimed at ordinary people who simply want to explore this fascinating subject – and no qualifications are needed! Beginning 24 August, it is the ideal opportunity to find out more about why people behave the way they do - whilst enjoying the all the scenic delights Dorset has to offer.
You will be based at Kingston Maurward College (accommodation can also be arranged on-site), said to be one of the most attractive places to study in the country. Based just outside the county town of Dorchester you will not be far from the fantastic heritage coastline stretching through Dorset and Devon.
Psychology is an absorbing academic and applied discipline involving the scientific study of human mental functions and behaviour – and psychologists study phenomena such as perception, cognition, emotion, personality, behaviour and interpersonal relationships. You can apply the knowledge you acquire to everything from the workings of the family through to the treatment of mental health problems.
It will be led by Dr John Hallam, who says: “The aim is to provide an accessible introduction in an informal atmosphere – to enjoy learning more about psychology in a friendly environment and great surroundings.”
The fee for the four days is £300 and you can find out more from
