Please sponsor two intrepid women walking for Alzheimers

On the 28th May 2009 two brave women will begin a backpacking adventure along Britains longest National Trail, The South West Coastal Path, a distance of 630 miles. They are doing it to raise money for the Alzheimer's Society - and are asking MT readers to help sponsor them.

Sue Poorta and Kate Birley will start their journey at Minehead in Somerset, then walk across North Devon right round Cornwall and along the South Devon and Dorset coasts to Poole Harbour. When they finish on July 17th they will have climbed the equivalent of almost four times the height of Everest.

Sue explained why they had chosen the Alzheimer's Society: "We chose it because we work in the health service and have witnessed first hand the devastating effect it has - not only on the sufferer, but also on their family and friends. We feel this is a disease which is often forgotten, so we want to raise money as well as public awareness."

If you want to support Sue, Kate and the Alzheimer's Society, you can donate online through Just Giving. It is quick, easy, totally secure
