Swing into action for MacMillan

Martin Johnson, Manager of the England rugby team, is encouraging golfers of all abilities to swing into action this summer and help Macmillan Cancer Support raise £350,000 for people affected by cancer.
To take part in the Longest Day Golf Challenge, participants must play 72 holes and hit over 300 shots all in one day! Macmillan hope such a huge effort from players (and supporters) will raise vital funds to help Macmillan continue to provide the expert care and emotional support needed by people living with cancer.
Martin Johnson, who is supporting Macmillan’s Longest Day Golf Challenge, says: “Macmillan’s Longest Day Golf Challenge is the perfect excuse to have the ultimate golfing day whilst raising vital funds for a very worthwhile cause. You will be helping Macmillan Cancer Support to continue providing services which help make a real difference to the lives of cancer patients and their families.”
To take part, golfers can tee-off as part of a junior, adult or a mixed age team, comprised of three or four players, and the rounds can be played at any golf course. The top four teams that complete the challenge will go on to compete for the 2009 Longest Day Golf Trophy. The final will take place at a prestigious golfing venue in October 2009.
