Part exchange proves the cat's whiskers for Bill and Joyce

What to do about their much-loved cat Rosie was a major consideration for Bill and Joyce Griffiths when they decided to move to a retirement development using part exchange.

Pets are not allowed at some retirement developments, so McCarthy & Stone’s more relaxed approach to animals was just what they needed. Said Bill: “We wanted somewhere where pets were welcome and we could take Rosie.  Our new home also had to have a reasonable sized garden and be on the ground floor to allow Rosie access in and out.  We already knew that we wanted to move to a McCarthy & Stone development because we’d looked at several in recent years and we liked the idea of them.”

McCarthy & Stone have locations nationwide but their first choice was Enfield Court at Hyde, where there was only one suitable two-bedroom ground floor apartment still available.  Keen to secure the flat, Bill and Joyce were faced with a problem – what to do with their three-bedroom detached bungalow.

“We were very entrenched.” Said Bill.  “We’d been there for 46 years and had spent quite a lot of money on it in recent years.  We decided that part exchange was right for us in that we wanted to move quickly and didn’t want to lose our ground floor apartment.”

Having made their decision, the couple embarked on part-exchange and were pleasantly surprised at the service and how quickly and smoothly everything went through.
