£5 off Taxcalc - your personal tax product

In response to the HMRC’s substantial and important changes to the self-assessment system , TaxCalc.com, the UK’s leading provider of tax software solutions  has launched the TaxCalc 2008 range of Personal Tax Products .

Featuring TaxCalc’s unique SimpleStep method and a variety of user friendly wizards and calculators, TaxCalc.com’s 2008 Personal Tax Products have been created to guide users through the new shortened tax return and supply returns in the new formats.

Tracy Ebdon-Poole, CEO at TaxCalc.com comments, “Using TaxCalc is like having a friendly accountant on hand to identify costly errors, point out legitimate ways to get some money back from the taxman and eliminate any confusion regarding the 2008 changes.

“For example, TaxCalc users can see their tax liability as they progress through the programme and even create ‘what if’ scenarios if they want an idea of how extra revenue will impact upon their tax going forwards. TaxCalc also ensures that despite the change in formats, previous year’s data can be imported into the correct boxes on the new forms and establish the basis of the new return.

“With TaxCalc’s additional benefits, including unique ‘top tax tips’ and unlimited email and telephone support – TaxCalc users will have much more time for ‘less taxing pursuits.”

Secure and reliable filing

Under the 2008 changes individuals are being encouraged to file online, with the filing deadline for paper returns now on the 31st of October (the online filing deadline remains the 31st of January.) However with memories of HMRC’s system crashing in January still fresh and a growing fear of online security, many will be sceptical of using the HMRC website to file their returns.

Andy Hardy, Development Director at TaxCalc.com explains, “Whilst around 200,000 returns were filed with commercial systems, those using the HMRC system found it near impossible to file or even access their own data.

“With this in mind, many people are turning to third-party software like TaxCalc 2008 Personal, to file their returns online. By using TaxCalc, users can control of their own data, prepare returns offline and have peace of mind that their private information is safe and secure .”
