Join Sussex Wildlife Trust for a family fun day

Join Sussex Wildlife Trust (SWT) on Sunday 7 September (11:00-16:00) for a carnival of family fun at Woods Mill nature reserve near Henfield.

Learn the secret skills of the wild wood including building mini shelters, making woodland creatures out of green wood, creating mud faces or working the pole lathe to carve wood.

All the family can enjoy lots of other woodland activities as part of the Trust’s main family event of the year including wildlife arty-crafts, pond dipping, face painting and wacky woodland races and games.

Alternatively head towards the peace and quiet of the new meadow at Woods Mill looking out towards the South Downs and listen to our storyteller or test your wildlife knowledge with a nature quiz around the reserve’s lakeside trail.

Tea and refreshments are available or brew up your own hot drink over the campfire using storm kettles.

Some activities are age limited and will be time-tabled – please sign up on the day. All children must be accompanied by an adult at all times.  Please bring a picnic.  Basic refreshments available. Disabled access on nature trail. Members: Adults £4/children £5/family ticket £15.  Non-members: Adults £5/children £6/family ticket £20.  No booking required.
