Watford Palace Theatre hosts new playwriting workshop, August 16th

Would-be William Shakespeares, Harold Pinters and Agatha Christies will be thrilled to learn that their budding talents could be unlocked this August at Watford Palace Theatre's brand new playwriting workshop programme called 'Off the Page'. This will present a unique opportunity for new playwrights to develop their skills and receive feedback about their writing.

Jen Thomas, Learning Coordinator for Watford Palace Theatre says: "We are delighted to welcome back Ola Animashawun from the Royal Court Theatre to run this session. She was involved in our Spring workshops for local writers. This really is a fantastic opportunity to develop your script and a chance to work with a professional director.’"

The first full day session will be on Saturday 16th August 2008, 10.30am to 5.00pm. Participants will read each other's work aloud and have the chance to engage in feedback conversations, facilitated by the workshop leader.

With a limited capacity of 10 places each, these summer workshops are a unique opportunity to hear your own writing and that of your peers read aloud and make the next step in developing a piece of work.

The session will cost £20 for the full day (£14 conc) and places can be booked through the Palace box office on 01923 225671.  If you have any questions, please do get in touch with them directly on 01923 810307 or by emailing learning@watfordpalacetheatre.co.uk.
