The card that proves that a dog really is for life ...
03/06/2008
Many of us worry about what would happen to our dog if something 'unexpected' happened, and would want to know that our faithful four-legged friends would continue to have love and care if we were no longer here. Which is why the Dogs Trust has launched the 'Canine Care Card scheme', a completely free service that gives you peace of mind - knowing that your dog would be looked after in the event of your death.
The Dogs Trust, founded in 1891 to protect dogs from ‘torture and ill-usage of every kind', is now one of the country’s leading charities, looking after some 14,000 stray and abandoned dogs through its UK network of 17 Rehoming Centres. The charity believes no healthy dog should ever be destroyed, and that every dog should have a chance to lead a happy and healthy life in a loving home.
The credit-card sized Canine Care Card provides real peace of mind to owners that their dog will continue to receive the best love and care - as the charity never puts a healthy dog to sleep, and works hard to make sure it matches every dog with a loving, responsible new home, no matter how long it takes. And in the unlikely event that they can’t find your dog a home, they will look after him or her for the rest of their life.
To find out more about the scheme and to ensure we are notified when your dog needs to be taken into the charity’s care, please call 020 7833 7006 and ask to be sent the leaflets entitled, "Canine Care Card" and "Canine Care Card Registration Form". Once registered, you'll never have to worry about the future of your dog again. Dogs Trust believes that a dog really is for life.
