Tom Selleck (Three Men and a Baby, Friends) returns as the Hawaiian shirt wearing private investigator in the eighth and final series of Magnum P.I.

 

The show that defined the 80s is now available to own on DVD from Monday 19th May 2008 courtesy of Universal Playback.

 

The Emmy Award® and Golden Globe® winning series reunites hunky Thomas Magnum with his trusty butler “Higgins” (John Hillerman), his helicopter pilot/body guard “TC” (Roger E. Mosley) and his suave playboy companion Orville Wright (Larry Manetti) for more mysteries, near misses and beautiful women. Season Eight opens with Magnum laying in a coma and friends and family at his bedside, hoping that he pulls through.

 

In true Magnum style, the moustached private investigator makes a full recovery. Although he finds life difficult to adjust to initially, a video-tape featuring his ex-wife and daughter in danger at the hands of his arch rival Quang Ki gives him the focus he needs: The hunt to save his family. As Magnum faces the truth and his grief takes hold his life seems to go into freefall when his friendship with “Higgins” is thrown into question and his employment by the omnipresent Robin Masters is tested.

 

Magnum P.I Season Eight includes other classic episodes such as ‘Forever in Time’, ‘Legend of the Lost Art’, and ‘Tigers Fan’, Season Eight also has guest stars including Amy Yasbeck (Wings), Carol Burnett (The Carol Burnett Show) and Joe Regalbuto (Murphy Brown).
