Lehár’s touching tale of the recently widowed, extremely rich and very glamorous Hanna Glawari is one of the world’s best-loved operettas. Director John Copley’s major new production for ENO promises to revive all the laughter, glamour and romance of the classic Hollywood films inspired by the story, with a glittering cast and sumptuous sets and costumes.

 

Amanda Roocroft makes her debut in the title role along side John Graham-Hall and one of Britain’s favourite tenors, Alfie Boe. The inimitable Richard Suart of ENO’s The Mikado and actor/comedian Roy Hudd also join the line-up.

 

Lehár’s irresistible music is brought to life by conductor Oliver von Dohnányi and the vibrant choreography of Anthony van Laast and Nicola Traherne, ensuring a night of spectacular romantic comedy.
