One Rhythm Dance Festival comes to Leicester

2008 will be a landmark year for the city of Leicester. This year marks
the completion of the multi-million pound refurbishment of the city
centre and the completion and launch of Curve, Leicester’s new
performing arts centre. To celebrate these wonderful achievements
Leicester will be presenting a spectacular Festival of Dance entitled
the 'One Rhythm Dance Festival'.

 

The One Rhythm Dance Festival's heady mix of cultures and tradition
promises to take you to all four corners of the globe, as the city comes
alive with a diversity of music and toe tapping sounds.
It's set to be the highlight of the events calendar this year showing
that Leicester really has "the world in one city".

 

As the name suggests, the intention is to bring the streets of the city
centre to life with a colourful programme themed dance performances,
events, activities and celebrations, which will be held monthly
throughout May - October, and begins with a host of activities on the
Bank holiday Monday 5th May with 'Spring in Your step'.
