Where is the justice?
19/03/2008
What is the future for disabled people in this country? Since my heart attacks a few months ago, I now have severe angina, take a lot of medication, cannot walk far, have to use a spray all the time and my wife has to look after me a lot. We are both in our seventies.
I was led to believe that I could claim Attendance Allowance. The benefits agency sent the forms which I filled in thanks to the help of the CAB. To my dismay I was told that I could not get the Attendance Allowance, but could appeal - which I have done and am awaiting the outcome.
I have never claimed before and always paid my stamps. Yet an Al Quaeda terrorist who has never paid a stamp or taxes in this country and was convicted of plotting to kidnap and behead a British soldier was in receipt of benefits to the tune of more than £20,000 a year? How many more are there on benefits when people like myself are denied them?
There is no justice anymore.
