Field Studies Council announces new Spring Walks
13/03/2008
Spring is almost upon us and what better time to take advantage of the longer days than to get outdoors and discover the hidden secrets of the natural world on a walking holiday course with environmental charity the Field Studies Council (FSC).
In 2008 the FSC has over 30 walking courses to help you discover the rugged mountains of the Lake District, the dramatic Pembrokeshire coastline or the tranquil Suffolk countryside. Each course helps you to learn about the wildlife in each area and appreciate the nature of the landscape, all in the company of like minded people. Courses run right through the year at FSC centres set in stunning locations throughout the UK.
Courses vary in length from a day or weekend to week long for whatever time you have to spare. A weekend course starts at around £150 and the fee includes full board and accommodation, transport during the course and the expert guidance of our knowledgeable tutors.
Spring courses for you to enjoy include:
-
Exploring Pembrokeshire (02-06 May) a long weekend that combines cliff, coastal and woodland walks and even a trip to Skomer Island to view its internationally important seabird colonies.
-
Classic Walks Around Blencathra (14-17 May)a series of two to three hour walks to celebrate the Keswick walking festival
