On Wednesday 6th and Thursday 7th February 2008, there will be open auditions for children aged between 8 and 18 years for an amateur charity performance (GWR Kids) of Rudyard Kipling's, The Jungle Book . The show will be performed at The Bristol Hippodrome on Sunday 6th April 2008 at 7.30 pm.
This production is being produced by local company The Big Act and is a 48 hour challenge and follows on from the success of last year's production, The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe. The entire show will be rehearsed and performed within just 48 hours from Friday 4th to Sunday 6th April, with the performance on the Sunday at 7.30 pm.
The Big Act will be casting various parts in The Jungle Book including Mowgli, Baloo, Bagheera as well as chorus/ensemble. They are looking for boys and girls aged 8-18 years. All youngsters need to do is turn up on either of the audition dates (all applicants aged 15 or under must be accompanied by a parent or guardian).
Auditions will be strictly on a first come, first served basis. Comfortable clothing should be worn and bring a passport photo. Auditionees will be given a short script to read and will attend a simple movement workshop.
Please bring a short song (any style) to sing unaccompanied. The Big Act are casting both singing and non-singing parts and auditionees may be asked to attend a recall audition on Saturday 16th February.
The Big Act offers top quality tuition in acting, singing and dancing to young people aged 4 + across Bristol. Classes take place at various locations across the region and students have performed at the Theatre Royal, Drury Lane in London's West End, BOV, The Bristol Hippodrome and Tobacco Factory, as well as working with the BBC and other film/television companies.
