Specialist foot care in the South West

Reflexologist Clarence Forteau is offering extra special foot care at reduced prices for older people in Bristol and Gloucestershire. He started the service when he realised that many senior citizens were experiencing long waits on the NHS for foot care services, and that private appointments with chiropodists and podiatrists were beyond the financial means of most pensioners.

Clarence, who also has training in Indian Head Massage and Pedicure/Foot care, provides regular therapy sessions at the Bradley Stoke Leisure Centre and discounted clinics at all of the Brunelcare centres throughout Bristol.

He told the Mature Times: "I pointed out to Brunelcare that there was a need within their local communities for non-residents to have access to my foot care clinics. They welcomed my proposal and are happy for senior citizens from the local community to come along to my clinics and benefit from my discounted prices. I also run clinics at Anchor Homes, RNIB, Age Concern, Guinness Trust establishments and a variety of Social Services’ Homes throughout Bristol."

Clarence's prices are: Foot wash, dry and toe nail cutting - £10: Foot Massage (with natural soaps) - £7: Hand Massage (excellent for arthritis) - £7, and Reflexology - £16. He also offers home visits for toe nail cutting for only £20.

Said Clarence: "I like to create a very relaxing environment for my clients whilst they have the treatments, and I also offer foot care advice specific to their needs. If I find any problems which are worrying them, I always refer them to their own GP for further advice or treatment."

Clarence, who is originally from New York, qualified as a Reflexologist in 2003, and then completed his other training shortly afterwards. He moved to Bristol in 1993, and is married with two "wonderful kids". As well as being a volunteer First Aider with St. John’s Ambulance, he has been providing discount clinics for Brunelcare for about one year - with huge success.
