If you love animals, why not volunteer for the PDSA?
13/01/2008
As most of us manage to break most of our New Year's resolutions by around January 21st, why not do something that will be easy to stick to - and volunteer at a PDSA shop in 2008? In return for donating your time, you will be rewarded with the satisfaction of helping sick and injured animals, developing new skills and making new friends. And volunteering also looks great on your CV if you are job hunting.
There are many volunteer opportunities at PDSA’s 180 shops, from helping to process Gift Aid donations to serving customers and ringing up sales, or creating eye-catching window displays to entice shoppers.
Funds raised in the shops help the PDSA provide free veterinary treatment to more than 1.8 million animals a year at a total cost of over £44 million. And because the PDSA receives no government or National Lottery funding for its PetAid services, volunteers play a crucial role in helping to raise much-needed funds.
