Forgotten people by the benefits system

Child benefit is going over the top. At one time people had a family they could afford - but now they think the state will pay. Single mothers do very well by the time their benefits are added up - often more than a low paid worker.
And many immigrants come here with one child and end up with five or six. I worked for social services and know quite a few of this group. Surely it should be curtailed if there is not a father in sight?
The group that really misses out in this country are pensioners. If you are on full benefit you do get help - but the ones that have tried to look after their old age are really hit.
