"Crawling on the floor because NHS won't prescribe drugs"

Like your recent lady who was denied Sativex (see link below) my daughter who has been an MS sufferer for ten years also took part in the original cannabis trial. It was too strong for her small frame and she was told by her neurologist at Stoke on Trent hospital that Sativex would be a better option.

As a result, we have tried numerous ways to get Sativex only to be told the same that the PCT will not authorise it. I have contacted my MP - also to no avail. My daughter is struggling to bring up her six year old son on her own but has to crawl across the floor to get around. She is also having to take drugs that are damaging her health - and at much greater cost to the NHS than Sativex.

So, why won't somebody listen and give these people a fair chance and some better quality to their lives? My daughter is only 36 and what has she to look forward to? The simple fact is these drugs are available but our so-called PCT will not give these poor patients the help they desperately need.

I bet if it was them suffering they would soon change their minds!

A very concerned mother
