Calling all WWII Homefront Heroes!

Were you working in Great Britain during the Second World War? If so a prominent film maker would like to hear from you.

Testimony Films, an award winning television production company (makers of What Did You Do In The Great War Daddy? - BBC4, Horror on the Home Front - BBC 2, Britain's Boy Soldiers - Channel 4), is making a six part series called "Home Front Heroes", celebrating the hard work and determination of civilian men and women during World War II. They would specifically like to hear from anyone who was working:

  • on the Land (Farmers, Land Girls, Evacuees, POWs)
  • Bevin Boys and Miners
  • on the Railways (Drivers, Firemen, at the station or in the engine sheds)
  • in the Emergency Services (Nurses, Doctors, Policemen, Firemen, ARP)
  • at Sea or in the Dock Yards (Merchant Seamen, Fishermen, Dockers, Shipbuilders)

If you or someone you know were working in any of the above industries and have interesting wartime stories and memories, contact Lizi Cosslett on 0117 925 8589, e-mail lizi.cosslett@testimonyfilms.com or write to Wartime Appeal, 12 Great George St, Bristol, BS1 5RH.
