One in four of the UK population will require some form of long-term care in their lifetime - and funding it can be an emotive, complex and expensive prospect. That's way it's important to consider all the funding options available to ensure that assets are suitably protected - however with so many issues to make sense of there is no one size fits all solution.

The premise for the chat is:
• over a third of people in care are paying for their own care with little or no support from the state
• there is always ongoing uncertainty of not knowing how long funding will be needed - it's easy for the money to run out before the care needs do
• also, there are now fresh changes to consider too - as of 1st October - the eligibility criteria for 'free' care from the NHS gets easier, the Registered Nursing Care Contribution change and enduring powers of attorney will be replaced by lasting powers of attorney.
