Your communication skills could save lives

Don’t let a lifetime of experience gather dust. The British Heart Foundation (BHF) is looking for enthusiastic go-getters to give some time and make a real difference to the work of the charity and the health of future generations by volunteering to co-ordinate fundraising in their local area.

There are two key roles where assistance is needed:

Schools Co-ordinators

Would you like to help improve the wellbeing of future generations? Would you enjoy talking to teachers and pupils about heart health and ways they can raise funds for the charity’s  vital work? Join the BHF team and you’ll find yourself talking to your local schools about Jump Rope for Heart, a national skipping event, and BHF’s excellent educational information. BHF will provide the resources but you’ll need to be a good communicator, who’s confident, energetic and enthusiastic about leading a healthy lifestyle.

Speakers

Speakers are needed to talk about the work of the BHF within the local community. “We’ll provide the information,” says the charity, “but you’ll need to be self-motivated and a good communicator, who’s confident, energetic and enthusiastic to talk about the work of the charity and to thank donors for their invaluable support.”

Whatever your motivation... perhaps you want to gain public speaking experience, are looking to skill-up for career progression, gain experience within a school environment or keep your mind and body active into retirement... in return for your commitment, you’ll become a highly valued member of the BHF team.

You’ll be meeting new people, learning new skills and having fun and you’ll be amazed at what you can achieve along the way: you’ll be helping the charity to fund vital research, education and care projects.

“The work of the British Heart Foundation is essential,” a spokesperson told Mature Times. “We’re working to beat the UK’s biggest killer but we can’t do it alone. We would love readers to get in touch and we can talk through the details.”
